The prices in my local currency are showing a comma as the decimal separator, but it should be a period

I am in Qatar. In Qatar, the currency is the Qatari riyal (QAR). When writing amounts in Qatari riyals, they typically use the period (.) as the decimal separator and the comma (,) as the thousand separator. For example, an amount like ten thousand riyals and fifty dirhams would be written as 10,000.50 QAR.

However, this is what I am seeing when accessing the Transtore demo store where a comma is being used as the decimal separator, which is completely wrong.

How to fix it?

Answer:

We conducted an internal test by creating a store located in Qatar using QAR. Surprisingly, Shopify is using the comma as the decimal separator by default.

Regarding your situation, our demo store inherits that setting when the market is set to Qatar, so the comma was used. This is fully controlled by Shopify, and our app did not intervene in the storefront at all.

A complete solution in this case would be to contact Shopify and ask them to update it. It seems like a bug, and as far as I know, QAR is not the only currency experiencing this issue.
