If you’ve spotted a wrong automatic translation on your storefront and want to correct it in the Manual Translation section of Transtore, you might find it tricky to locate the exact section where that content is stored.
Why It’s Difficult to Locate Certain Texts
Transtore relies on the Shopify Translation API, which organizes content according to the structure of your Shopify store (e.g., Products, Pages, Theme sections). Because of this:
Text may be stored in different sections, depending on its origin.
Some text is straightforward to locate (e.g., product titles, page content), but other pieces (e.g., buttons, labels, app-integrated text) can be harder to find without knowing the exact source.
Can I Edit Translations Directly on the Page?
At this time, Shopify does not provide a built-in “visual editor” that lets you click directly on a word in your storefront to edit it in place. While this would be ideal, the current Shopify system requires translation edits to be done from within the app’s manual translation editor.
What We Recommend
If you’re struggling to find a specific wrong translation:
Note the page URL and the exact text you want to correct.
Send this information to us at support@transtore.app with a staff account or a Collaborator account.
Our Technical team will look for the source of the text and tell you exactly which section it’s stored in.
Once you know the location, you can easily update it in Translations → [relevant section].
